Who are we? ........Bruce,....... Miriam

Bruce and Miriam have been a happily coupled concern for 27 years. We have four children: Andrew, 24 years; Rosalind, 22 years; Melinda, 19 years and Ben 18. For more about our kids, open our kids page.
We live near Wauchope on the mid north coast mid north coast of New South Wales, Australia. Our home is on 40 acres of farming land with a northerly aspect overlooking wooded hills. The farm hosts several beef cattle, mainly Hereford, and assorted poultry.
Bruce is trained in Science (BSc, first class honors, from Sydney University ) and teaches Science at Port Macquarie High School where he has been teaching for 20 years and is currently Head of Science Faculty. Bruce has taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics at various times. His current educational interests include educational administration, student welfare / counselling, chemistry and environmental education. After 31 years teaching he is anticipating retirement in a few years with some excitement.
Interests include Family history, farming, running for fitness, reading, bushwalking and camping.
Miriam is a trained music teacher (BA, Mus Ed, Queensland
Conservatorium of Music) and pianist (LTCL). She also plays flute and
guitar. Miriam has enjoyed a variety of solo soprano singing roles in local
choirs and concerts. Miriam has taught in primary schools in Qld, NSW and
Vic. In 2006 she successfully applied for a permanent position at Heritage Christian Schhol in Port Macquarie. She was teaching class music at Comboyne and other small Primary Schools and short term psitions at Port Macquarie High School Music Department and Camden Haven High School
and private instrumental students until 2006.
Her musical interests have seen her involved as accompanist for the Hastings
Choristers (adult community choir) and the local district Sing 2001 choir, run by the Department of Education and Training. With Sing 2001, she had the oportunity of singing with the adult choir singing for the cauldron ignition at the Sydney Olympics in 2001. Miriam has performed three major roles in Musical Productions staged by Players Theatre in Port Macquarie. In 2003 she held the lead role in Robert and Elizabeth a musical about the love between English poets Elizabeth Barrett and robert Browning. In March 2001 she was Valanciene in "The Merry Widow" followed by Maria in "Sound of Music" in November.
