Hi, my name is Melinda and I go to Wauchope High School. I live in
Bellangry, just out of Beechwood (near Wauchope) on a farm. I am
in year 7 .My sister, Ros, in year 8 and my brother, Andrew, in
year 9 also go to Wauchope High School.My other brother, Ben, is
in year 5 at Beechwood Public Primary School. My Mum and Dad are
both teachers. My Mum is a part-time music, science and PE teacher
and works at Comboyne Public Primary School ,while my Dad is a
full-time science teacher at Port Macquarie High School.
On Monday's and Friday's, Andrew, Ros and I go to swimming
training. Our trainer is Michelle Hopkinsen. On Thursday's I go to
a choir rehearsal. The choir is called Sing 2001 and we are in
lots of concerts. Ros and Ben are both in this choir as well and
Mum accompanies on the piano. Andrew, Ros, Ben and I have each
been taught a musical instrument by our Mum. I learnt the piano
and have sat for 2 exams, Preliminary and Grade 1.I am now
practising for the Grade 2 exam.
These are some of my friends; Kirsten Turnbull, in year 7,
lives in Brisbane, pen-pal; Amy Ostler, in year 7, lives in
Beechwood; Candice Zycki, in year 7, lives in Pappanburra,; Jessie
Denemede, in year 7, lives in Bellangry, does distance education,
Katrina Mcloed, in year 7, lives in Comboyne, Samantha Faucett, in
year 7, lives in Rollands Planes,Kate Webber, in year 4, lives in
Wauchope; Julia county, out of school, lives in Bybarra, and
others.
On our farm we have lots of cows, a horse, chooks, peacocks and
peahens, about 7 guinea pigs and lots and lots and lots and lots
of thistles, Parramatta grass, stinging nettles and weeds,
although Ben, Andrew and Dad have all been working on the garden,
Dad has been spraying the Parramatta grass and we all have been
chopping down thistles and Parramatta grass seedheads.
Andrew, Ben, Ros and I all sleep in an old 'red rattler' train
carriage. Andrew and Ben sleep up one end and Ros and I sleep up
the other end.
