A busy year again. This time Miriam, Ros, Melinda and Ben have at different times had roles in musical productions staged by Port Macquarie Players Theatre. Miriam has stared in two: as Valancienne in The Merry Widow and later as Maria in The Sound of Music. Roz was part of the chorus with small individual roles in both of the musicals with Miriam. Melinda started the stage trend with a chorus part in a summer pantomime, Cinderella. Ben was one of the von Trapp children, Freidrick, in Sound of Music. A very addictive passtime for all of us. Melinda has continued with Sing 2001 and has been part of two major performances this year at Tenterfield and the Sydney Opera House.

Andrew has just completed his HSC and is waiting results, but has already been offered a pre result university place at New England University. He has just purchased his first car, a 22 year old Toyota Landcruiser.

Well in 2000 there was the local excitement in Port Macquarie with the Torch Relay arriving in town in August, with a concert involving Miriam, Roz, Melinda and Ben. Roz had a small solo part in the Olympics 2000 song. In May all except Andy were involved in the Opening Ceremony of the Pacific School Games at Stadium Australia. In September, the Olympic Games with Miriam, Melinda and Ben involved in the Opening or Closing Ceremonies. In October, the Paralympics Opening Ceremony, with Roz and Ben involved. In between, lots of rehearsals. Bruce also became year adviser to the graduating year 12 class for the year.

2001. Bruce is Acting head of Department for Science for the year. Miriam is one of the Principals in the Merry Widow, performing at Port Players Theatre. Roz also has a minor role in the same production. Miriam is one of the two codirectors of the local schools' Music Festival.
